Discussion on Market Share Metrics
The overview article of the market share tool mentioned the different metrics that you can use to filter and represent your market share. Lots of our system users play around with these aggregations to find the stats they're looking for with marketing in mind.
Think about how this view can not only help you track how your business is doing in your marketplace, but also how you can use this information to market your business to various agents as well as buyers and sellers that you interact with daily. Also think about your company dollar. Is your business driven by the number of transactions your agents close or is it focused more on closed volume? Make a note of which of these metrics are the most important to you and your company as you track your business and save your view for later.
Another thing to think about when you're taking a look at these numbers is property type. Are you more concerned with residential and land sales? Does your company focus their efforts in commercial sales? Maybe you'd like to create separate views for tracking these two types of markets.
Lastly, I want to discuss the company office or franchise aggregation. You can download this view and pull in the various offices to get an overall company view (Watch this video here to see this demonstrated).
Companies are manually entered into our system by data technicians. We do this by compiling offices together under a company name. If there is a company that is not showing in your system that you would like to track, all you need to do is email me the company name and a list of offices that should be included under that company. It will then be added to your view so that you will no longer need to manually aggregate it.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions on this or anything else in our system.
